Re: Valley Grange #1360, Lewisberry, York County, Supports Local Fire Departments
LEWISBERRY - Four northern York County fire companies were the recipients of donations from Valley Grange #1360, Lewisberry, last night.
Lisburn Community Fire Company, Lewisberry Community Fire Company, Newberry Township Fire Company and Wellsville Fire Company were each presented with checks in the amount of $500.00 from Valley Grange #1360 at its regular meeting.
Valley Grange #1360's hall is located in Warrington Township on Rt. 177 just outside of Lewisberry. Grange members voted at their October13 meeting to show their support for the four local fire companies with this donation. The checks were one of the Grange's Community Service Committee chairperson Tanya Traver's ideas for the Grange to show its community support in the general Lewisberry area.
On hand for the presentations were Chief Jack Souders from Lisburn, Vice-President Jeff Rece of Newberry and Chief Mark Albright from Lewisberry. The Wellsville Fire Company was unable to have anyone attend the meeting and their check will be sent to them. Rich Witten of the Newberry Township Fire Company also gave a very informative presentation to Grange members on home fire safety as part of the Grange's educational program.
The Valley Grange #1360 has been in the Lewisberry area since 1807. They are part of the York/Adams Pomona Grange #40 as well as the PA State Grange and the National Grange. The Grange is a family fraternal organization dedicated to the betterment of rural America through community service, education, legislation and fellowship. It is the oldest rural advocacy organization of its kind in the United States. The Grange is the only community service organization to include the entire family in its membership.
Valley Grange #1360 membership is open to anyone with a desire to better their local community. They meet the second and fourth Mondays of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Grange hall located at 1230 Rosstown Road, Lewisberry.

Welcome to the Valley Grange #1360 web site. Here you can learn more about what the Grange is all about, our current programs, what we offer the community, our facilities, and much more.
The Grange is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life through educational, social and legislative activities; promoting family life through family-oriented activities; advancing the cause of agriculture; developing rural leadership; and acting as a spokesman in public affairs. Grange policies affect local, state and national legislation, however, Grange legislative policies begin at the local level where members express views on many issues.
Valley Grange #1360 continues to participate in the National Grange's Action Grange Program. One of only 7 granges in PA to be involved in this program. Valley is proud to have been chosen in this "pilot program." Plan to attend one of our meetings to learn more about our involvement.
